ThreeDmap: customizing awareness information

In this paper we present ThreeDmap, an editor that allows the creation and customization of 3D graphical interfaces for the promotion of awareness information. The development of ThreeDmap is related to the recent improvements of ThreeDness, a software module promoting awareness information through a 3D graphical representation of the context of cooperating people. ThreeDness improvements are put in relation with presentation strategies that emerged from two research fields that, like ThreeDness, use a 3D technology: Collaborative Virtual Environments and nonWIMP user interfaces.
